We are not a studio that drives up from Delhi for the season. Sandeep Photography has worked out of Panchkula since 2012, and most of the 500-odd weddings we have shot have been in this district or within twenty minutes of it. That matters more than it sounds. We know which sector halls have low ceilings and need our own lights. We know the baraat coming down from Sector 20 will hit traffic near the Housing Board chowk on a Saturday evening. Small things, but they decide whether you get the photo or miss it.

Where to Shoot in Panchkula

This is the part couples usually ask about first, so here is what actually works. Panchkula is unusual for the Tricity in that you can go from a Mughal garden to a hill road to a lake in the same morning.

Yadavindra Gardens, Pinjore

About twenty-five minutes from the city and still the best-looking spot in the district. Seven terraces, old stone pavilions, long water channels and cypress lines. For pre-wedding shoots it is hard to beat. Two things to plan for: it gets crowded from late morning onwards, and photography for commercial use needs permission from the garden office, so tell us early and we will sort it before the day. Winter mornings here are worth the early start. The fountains and the haze do half the work.

Cactus Garden, Sector 5

One of the largest cactus and succulent collections in Asia, and almost nobody uses it for shoots. Ten minutes from most Panchkula homes. The textures are strange and graphic, which suits couples who do not want the usual flower-arch look. Best in the two hours after opening, before the sun goes hard overhead.

Morni Hills and Tikkar Taal

Roughly an hour up from Panchkula and the only real hills in Haryana. The road itself gives you good frames, and the twin lakes at Tikkar Taal open up in a way nothing in the plains does. This is a half-day commitment, not something to squeeze in between functions. If you want the mist, it has to be a winter morning, and we have to leave Panchkula before six. We have done it plenty of times and it is always worth it.

Nada Sahib Gurudwara and the Ghaggar bed

Close to the city, on the Ghaggar. The gurudwara itself is beautiful in the evening when the lights come on, and the open riverbed nearby gives wide, uncluttered frames that are surprisingly hard to find elsewhere in Panchkula. Dress code and quiet respect apply inside the complex, and we shoot accordingly.

Kaushalya Dam

Past Pinjore, about forty minutes out. Big water, low hills behind it, very little crowd on weekdays. Late afternoon into sunset is the window. Bring a change of footwear, the approach is not smooth.

Town Park and Sector 5

The practical choice when there is no time for a day trip. Town Park has enough old trees and open lawn to give you thirty good frames in an hour, and it is minutes from most venues. We use it a lot for post-ceremony couple portraits when the schedule has already slipped, which it usually has.

Panchkula Golf Club and Ramgarh Fort

Both give you a different register: manicured green in one case, old stone and heritage rooms in the other. Both need access to be arranged in advance rather than on the morning. Ask us and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth the effort for your particular shoot.

Getting the Light Right Here

Panchkula sits at the foot of the Shivaliks, and that changes the light more than people expect. Evenings go dark faster than in Chandigarh because the sun drops behind the hills. In December and January you effectively lose usable outdoor light by about half past five. We plan couple portraits before that, not after, and we bring lights for everything that follows.

Summer is the opposite problem. From April to June, anything between eleven and four is harsh, contrasty and unkind to faces. Morning shoots or evening shoots, nothing in between. If your wedding is in that season, we will push for a sunrise slot on the pre-wedding and you will thank us later.

Venues and Sectors We Cover

Most Panchkula weddings land in one of four places: a banquet hall in the Sectors 8, 9, 11 or 20 belt, a farmhouse on the Barwala or Morni road, a hotel on the Zirakpur side, or a home function in one of the older sectors. Each needs a different plan.

• Sector banquet halls are usually low-ceilinged with mixed lighting. We carry our own lights to every one of them, no exceptions.
• Farmhouses give you space and greenery but almost no light after dark. Night functions there need proper setup, not on-camera flash.
• Home functions in the older sectors are tight on space. We shoot with wider lenses and keep the crew small so the room stays usable for the family.
• Temple and gurudwara ceremonies have their own rules on movement and equipment. We check with the venue rather than assume.

Anywhere inside Panchkula district carries no travel charge. That includes Pinjore, Kalka, Barwala, Raipur Rani, Morni and the villages around them.

How the Day Actually Runs

A normal booking puts three of us on your wedding: two on stills, one on film. One photographer starts with the bride while she is getting ready, the second goes to the groom and stays with the baraat, and the cinematographer moves between the two. When they meet at the venue, so do we.

We do not work to an hour count. If your haldi starts at nine in the morning and the vidaai is at two the next afternoon, that is one day of coverage as far as we are concerned. Fixed-hour packages are where people get caught out, and we would rather not build our business on that.

Every shooter carries a second camera body, spare batteries and spare cards. Everything gets copied to two drives the same night before anyone goes home. In twelve years we have not lost a wedding, and this is why.

What It Costs

We do not put one flat number on the website for everything, and here is the honest reason. A single-day wedding at a Sector 11 banquet hall and a three-day affair spread between a farmhouse and Pinjore are not the same job, and pretending they are is how families end up with a bill they did not expect. Tell us your functions and you will have a written quote the same day. Whatever is on that quote is what you pay.

Most Panchkula bookings pair wedding photography with a cinematic film. Adding a pre-wedding shoot to the same booking costs less than booking it separately. Traditional and candid coverage are both standard, not paid upgrades, and drone work is available where the venue permits it.

Booking Around the Season

November through February is when this district gets busy, and the good dates in that window go months ahead. We take a limited number of weddings each month on purpose, because the alternative is sending someone you have never met. If your date is in the season, call early. If it is off-season, you have more room and usually more of our attention.

• Mention any ritual specific to your family so we plan for it instead of reacting to it

What does a wedding photographer in Panchkula cost?

From ₹25,000 for a single-day wedding with a photographer and a cinematographer. Beyond that it depends on how many days and functions you have. We will not quote a final number over the phone without knowing that, because a guess helps nobody.

Do you charge extra to travel within Panchkula?

No. Anywhere in the district is included, Pinjore and Kalka and Morni as well. Outside the district we tell you the travel cost upfront and it goes on the written quote.

Can you shoot a pre-wedding at Pinjore Gardens or Morni?

Yes, we shoot at both regularly. Pinjore needs permission arranged in advance for a commercial shoot, and Morni needs an early start to get the good light. Tell us which one you want and we will handle the planning.

How many people will come from your side?

Three for a standard Panchkula wedding: two photographers and one cinematographer. The number is written into your package, so nobody is guessing on the day.

Is drone photography possible at our venue?

Usually yes, but it depends on the venue and the location. Some places near government buildings and certain temple complexes do not permit it. We check before the day rather than turning up and finding out.

When will we get the photos?

A teaser within a few days, the full gallery in three to four weeks, and the film in six to eight. If your dates are tighter than that, say so before booking and we will tell you honestly whether we can manage it.

Do you send freelancers?

No. You will know who is coming to your wedding before the day, and it will be the same people through every function.
